New Staco FirstLine® 924 Provides Cost Effective Emergency Lighting Power for All Lighting Systems In addition to providing a continuous 90-minute (minimum) power supply during blackouts, the FirstLine® 924 isolates and protects the connected load from damaging sags, swells, harmonics, noise, and voltage imbalances in the primary AC supply. Isolating the connected load from irregularities in the primary AC supply can significantly increase the life expectancy of lighting systems and reduce the long-term cost of ownership. In the event of an AC power failure, the FirstLine® 924 automatically transfers to battery power, providing a continuous power supply for 90-minutes. When power returns, the FirstLine® 924 automatically recharges the batteries in preparation for the next power disturbance. Three-phase operations support three-phase or single-phase loads. Input voltage rating is 208Vac or 480Vac with +/- 20% range, for an effective input range of 166-250Vac and 384-576Vac respectively, at 60 Hz. Output voltage is regulated to +/-1% of nominal at full load. Total Harmonic Distortion is ≤ 5% for non-linear loads, and ≤ 3% for linear loads. A front panel LCD display includes 2 x 24 character display which shows system status and alarms. The user-friendly control panel located on the front of the freestanding NEMA 1 enclosure allows remote monitoring through an RS232 connection. FirstLine® 924 is made in the USA and backed by an industry-leading three-year warranty (covering both parts and labor). Detailed specifications are available at www.staco-news.com. To find a local distributor, visit www.stacoenergy.com/BuyPQ-US.html New StacoSine® Active Harmonic Filters Automatically Correct a Wide Range of HarmonicsDayton, OH – The new line of StacoSine ® Active Harmonic Filters dynamically correct a wide spectrum of harmonic orders. StacoSine ® uses power electronics to monitor a non-linear load and dynamically correct every harmonic order from the 2nd to the 51st. Through an injection and cancellation process, the sine wave is restored and distortion is reduced to less than 5% THD, meeting stringent IEEE 519 standards. The unique StacoSine technology moves power from the AC source to its DC electronic platform, then back to the AC source rapidly, to cancel out harmonics and equalize the sine wave. The high speed process cancels high frequency output current, while it determines the precise value of injected load current. Designed to operate at levels that continuously adapt to rapid load fluctuations, StacoSine is ideal for industrial and commercial environments including manufacturing, critical process lines, hospitals, data centers, HVAC, telecommunications, ac/dc/variable frequency drives, wastewater treatment and pumping stations, and more. Models are available for 208 - 480 VAC, 3-phase installations with an adaptive system frequency of 45/65 Hz, and 120/240 VAC control power. Equipment ratings are from 25 to 200 amperes. Wall mount or freestanding NEMA 1 enclosures are standard, with NEMA 12 or 3R enclosures available. Optional communications packages and user specific requirements can also be accommodated. Unlike “passive” harmonic mitigation technologies which require intensive site data collection, power quality surveys and computer generated studies, StacoSine can be easily installed with minimal analysis (and no downtime for installation). They are available as stand-alone systems or can be integrated into other power quality and power distribution equipment. “With the wide range of harmonics mitigation that StacoSine provides, improving electrical system efficiency has never been easier,” says Chuck Gougler, Director of Business Development. “Customers will start to save money immediately after installation.” Staco Energy Products Co., headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, is a major provider of voltage control, power conditioning, power factor/harmonic correction, and UPS systems and technologies. Since 1937, Staco has provided business and industry with practical solutions to meet a wide range of power demands. Staco Energy’s new line of harmonic correction equipment can now be purchased through Staco Energy’s nationwide network of sales representatives, or by contacting the factory directly by phone at US toll free 866-261-119, by fax at 937-253-1723, or via email at sales@stacoenergy.com. Click Here for More Information Introducing StacoVAR Motor Load Fixed Capacitor Assemblies for Power Factor Improvement with Low Voltage ApplicationsDayton, OH, June 27, 2005– The new StacoVAR ML line of fixed capacitor assemblies provides power factor improvement for applications from 2 to 200 kvar. They are ideal for locations using induction motors or where small multiple loads require reactive compensation. A standard line of low-voltage (240-480-600 VAC) products offers easy ordering and “off-the-shelf” availability. Standard NEMA 1 enclosures include flanges for mounting on floor, wall, or equipment (motor bracket, top of motor control center, etc). All units include a stud or terminal type power line connection for quick, simple installation. The complete assembly is UL 508 listed. Optional fusing and blown fuse indicator lights are available, as are harmonic duty rated capacitors. Larger kvar ratings and other enclosure types can also be manufactured for individual user requirements. The Capacitors are three-phase metalized polypropylene, which are self-healing to prevent permanent dielectric breakdown. Impregnation of an environmentally friendly dielectric fluid provides added insulation, excellent corona protection and a moisture barrier. Designed for a long service life over a wide temperature range, each capacitor is contained in a steel rectangular “can.” Pressure sensitive circuit interruption is incorporated within the capacitor. This allows safe removal of the unit under heavy fault conditions while maintaining case integrity. External discharge resistors allow voltage to be reduced to 50 volts or less in one minute. “These products cover the spectrum for low-voltage users looking for power factor improvement,” says Chuck Gougler, Manager of Business Development at Staco Energy Products. “A broad list of standard features and available options allows users to select a product that is ideally suited for their installation requirements,” continues Gougler, “the resulting power factor correction yields ongoing economic benefits, with improved load efficiency, long after the short payback period.” Staco Energy’s new line of power factor and harmonic correction equipment can now be purchased through Staco Energy’s network of sales representatives, or by contacting the factory direct at US toll free 866-261-1191, fax at 937-253-1723, or email at sales@stacoenergy.com.
